Another Water Drop Attempt

Boy, it's really hard. I'm thinking I needed more light so I could have had deeper depth of field. Suggestions?
Getting better Jane...quite a challenge!

you're shooting with a 36MP D800, so feel free to back up a little (double your subject distance), then crop down. the closer you get, the more your DOF decreases, exponentially. even f/51 wouldn't cut this shot at 1 foot with my 105mm macro lens. also, moving your flash closer increases your light exponentially as well. fire the flash horizontally and put a white card opposite the flash to reclaim some of that light.

I don't even dare taking water crowns... if you are beginning this is really good.

I think you are doing fine...and what Cameron said.

No advice from me, because I don't have a clue. Nice color on this attempt.

Fantastic Jane! Far better than anything I have managed to get.

I don't have any advice to give as I haven't tried it yet myself, but I love the colors and design under the water.

looks better Jane. Is that Harry Potter underneath?

@brav Yes. I liked how the crown intersects the goblet and his gaze
