Plum Blossom Focus Stacking by jgpittenger

Plum Blossom Focus Stacking

I busied myself yesterday with practicing focus stacking while dealing with the plumber and no water. We have to have a new pump and hopefully will get it by this afternoon. Here is one of my two attempts. I think I should try again on a day that is less windy. Suggestions welcomed!

Both are great results, Jane, and congratulations on trying stacking. Of the tw0, I prefer this one, but perhaps more for the subject than the technical aspects (technically both are fine). I do not have vast experience with this, but doing it in the primitive way that I do (ie tripod, macro, manual focusing moving through the whole depth of the subject), I would definitely recommend doing it indoors or in windless conditions to eliminate artefacts...even if it means cutting the flower or branch to take it indoors. You do not want any movement of the subject or camera at all when doing this. I even use the self timer at 2s (by lack of a remote trigger) instead of pushing the button. What software did you use?

@ericdibosco thanks Eric. I used CC. I will try the indoor route!
