It was really quite unfortunate that I was so super knackered every darn evening after a full day of walking around the city that I ended up not shooting that many night time frames at all. I had had the idea that I'd go and shoot the Colosseum and perhaps Fontana di Trevi in their evening lighting, but no, couldn't do it. My feet hurt too much.
So I'm left with a few shots from the riverside, because that was convenient, as we crossed the Tiber almost every night to have dinner in Trastevere.
Next time I go to Rome I'll get the night time shots. Less walking during the day and I'll be able to walk in the evening... :D (And perhaps next time I'll also have a camera body that deals with noise a bit better. Love my 600D, but goshdammit, the noise levels are ridiculous!)
@kwind@northy I was surprised by the quite strong flow of the Tiber. Which is why it would require really long exposure times to get the water smooth - but luckily it's not necessary for a nice reflection. Shot without a tripod, this is quite nice the way it is. :)
yes, my feet ached too, but walking was the best way to see and be able to shoot what I had come there for. It is pretty hard to get 'the shot' from a bus, etc. This is beautiful! love how cool it looks in BW
