Floral Clock-Niagara Falls by joansmor

Floral Clock-Niagara Falls

My parents went to Niagara Falls for their second honeymoon in 1952. I remember it as my sister and I stayed with our grandparents. My husband and I went there the year after we married and I had someone take a picture of us at the flora clock too. It doesn't line up perfectly because our was in a slightly different spot. The floral clock is changed with each season but I also got a picture inside of me and dh showing my parents clock in the background in a picture for that year. I have duplicated a few pictures that I have of my parents.
Oh wow, this is brilliant. Two lovely original photos blended so well into this one. There pretty much do match up, think you've done a great job. What programme did you use?

@debbie3108 Photoshop Elements. I just but one over the other resized and adjusted till I had them as good as I could get (the color is over the bw) added a mask to the color and then painted on black with it to hide the part of the color one I wanted and thus revealing the bw. We learn to do these things in digital scrapping. So not so hard for me. But I love that I am sitting there with my dad.

@pjr You have to try it Pete. You live in an area that must have some old pictures on the internet. Then go take a picture today and combine. You can use Picmonkey they say though I haven't tried. It's fun.

@bookthiefsfriend Come on Lyleigh try it. Use the tag OLDNEW. It's fun see some of the others using this tag. @bulldog started it.

I love what you've done with this Joan. This shot was done with love and has soul - those who can't feel that and see only the 'imperfections' need to be ignored. They are seeing this challenge as merely an exercise in technical competence and not as a wonderful inter-generational thread, tying together people, places and events from different eras.

Wow...Joan this is so cool. Love how you did this! Your Dad would love it!

@vignouse Wow Richard. I loved that there I was sitting next to my Dad. There really is no perfect way to meld. I've looked at it. Well, not at my technical level.

@eyesmile I think he would and know my mother would.

I really love this shot! Great processing to match them up, I think they work well together even if taken at slightly different areas!
April 24th, 2014
@joansmor As an afterthought Joan - did you think to try processing the shot of you in B&W?

@ithinkithunk Thanks Kristen.

@vignouse I stuck my hands out of the top of the hole I've been in and someone walked on my fingers. OUCH lol My boss says I'm a stress junkie and my gf agree. Wait till you see todays pictures (if they are any good- lots of color)
