One of the guys asked what my picture today was going to be and I said I hadn't taken it yet. Then 5 minutes later Ant-thon-nie (from Pizza Friday with Tom Thumb) comes in with his beautiful baby girl. I got to practice portrait photography and have permission to post. Think my shutter speed is a little slow because I set up for dogs on the floor and the light changes high up and she is being held by her father.
This is lovely, and faced with an unexpected photo opportunity, you reacted like a pro. Technically speaking: your lens was wide open, and the ISO at 800 (that;s enough in colour on a D90) resulted in a shutter speed of 1/40 sec - not ideal but you had no 'wriggle room' so no choice but to live with it. so you made the best of a presented situation but you could/should have corrected the colour balance as she has green tints in her hair and the left-hand side of her face.
@vignouse I don't know if its my screen or my eyes but I don't see green. So I would have a hard time correcting that. Don't see it in the print copy either. Is that a color flaw with me? Or the lighting in my room. I will look at it on my work computer and see I see it.
@joansmor Strange, I've now looked at this on two other monitors (this one is my iPad) and I don't see the problem repeated... and yet the first one is the only monitor of the three which is colour corrected. As you were then and sorry for the false alarm.
