Jace's sledding didn't go well, probably didn't help that he was trying to stand and slide. The aunt in me wanted to say don't do that you'll get hurt. But boys will be boys (plus think I did something similar at that age). Well he hadn't gone far when down he went. When I realized he was crying I called out to his grandmother next door and set my camera inside my house. He was wiggling his foot and snuffling when I got to him. I said are you hurt and he gave me a list of his "hurts" I grabbed his shoe (which you can see flying off in the picture) and put it on. No yelps of pain. And now he admits his hands hurt because he didn't wear mittens or gloves. Grandma took him home. He's doing fine. So I was out early in the storm taking pictures and had one I wanted to post but my heart was won over by family. Jace is my great-grand nephew. This is my sisters great grandson. That can't be?
Oh and I'm going for a twofer - my get pushed and the transportation theme.
Though I can't make finals for get pushed this week and want to thank all who helped me win last weeks.
@taffy Inside my kitchen not in the snow. I felt guilty for not going straight to him. But he didn't sound in terrible pain more the cry for attention.
Nice action shot Joan; great timing and composition... It would benefit from a stop or a stop and a half more exposure, but you can easily fix that in LR.
@vignouse It's one of those things that in LR it looked bright enough and then when I bring it into 365 it became dark. I am not the only one to notice this happening sometimes. Guess I need to process brighter for 365.
This is a fantastic photo! Love the comp/crop very much. And the action, oh my goodness, it looks like you have a Molly-type on your hands! Glad he was ok. I walked into school one day and finally found her in the bathroom with a teacher, who was running warm water over her hands and she was howling! I asked where her gloves were - in her pocket of course!! Some of my photos are too dark, too. Cool tip to edit in PicMonkey!
Yep- Boys! And you just know he's going to keep trying that until he can do it, don't you? (o: I raised two sons- and have seen my share of spills and thrills. Glad you caught this one in camera and that in the end, no great grand nephews (WOW!!) were hurt in the process!
