This month has been a mix of cold days and above normal days, A mix of snow days, sunshine and rain. So the snow never lasts for long. This morning was the end of a period lasting longer than 24 hours where the snow fell light and fluffy from the sky. The world was a photographers dream. But the light wasn't great and traffic too heavy. After work the trees were bear and most of the snow melted. So you are getting a so so picture from earlier. Dang this working interferes with my photography.
You mourn the loss of the snow but this has it's own beauty - in the subtle complementary hues, in the textures and shapes and the light as it is reflected in the water, along side the trees.. i love the starkness of the trees against the subtle richness of the melt beneath them.
Joan, forget the mental image of what you wanted and rejoice in what you found instead.. :-)
I really like the different stages of winter you've shown all in one picture. Your processing is wonderful. Check this against black - really nice. Fav
