Well not really because it goes to the boiler to be cooked down. See https://365project.org/joansmor/365/2017-03-31 You can see the shading where the sap is gathering at the very bottom.
I am so excited. I am going to visit @shesnapped in Maryland this Spring. Well it will still be spring in Me but getting into summer I suspect in MD.
I love seeing how that tubing travels so far - neat that you can see it accumulating. No wonder that syrup isn't cheap - that's quite a job! Isn't it fun to look forward to a trip!
I wonder how long it takes to fill the container.
Hope you have a great trip. Do your seasons change at different times? Ours are all exactly 3 months and change on the first of the month (1st June, 1st March, etc.)
@bella_ss On the Calendar every three months around the time of of the sun times. Winter in December and Summer in June, both at the solstice. Fall in September and spring March, both at equinox . But In Maine Spring weather with things blooming happens in late April, summer beach weather is late June, Fall is early September and winter in November .
Looks very much like the Maple Syrup "farms" around here. Nothing better than the real thing! If you're driving through Pennsylvania via I-84 to MD let me know- you'll probably be close by and we could meet!
