Panning 1&2 by joysabin

Panning 1&2

My get pushed partner- @filip challenged me to panning. I know that I need more practice with this technique. I also think that I need to find more places to which have action so I can practice. I do enjoy having to think and appreciated this challenge a great deal.
@filip Thank you for the challenge and I will continue to work on this technique.

Very cool - something I've never tried, among other things

Well, I know nothing about this photo technique, but I like what you did.
I like the soft colors too. I better do some reading.:>)

@graemestevens Thank you
@nydelignorsk I went to youtube for advice and info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFNBs0rtyl4- try this one.
Today was cloudy and rainy in town but snowy on the peaks.

Thank you for the challenge you gave me. My challenge to you is to go on a walk (if the weather is cooperative) and stop every 21 steps, look around you and take a photo of anything near or far, macro or huge. Post a couple or more that turned out really well. If that doesn't work for you, give me a B&W photo of an interior space - not just an item in the interior, but the space itself.

It's very tricky to pan, I find, but you are off to a good start!

Nicely done

@mcsiegle What a great choice-I not sure which to choose but I am going on a hike this morning- "Fat Man's Loop" - one of my favorites. I will try the 21 step shot and see what happens. I will also work on a B&W interior shot because there are a few really cool buildings on NAU's campus. Stay sane and safe - Joy

@taffy Thanks, as with most techniques, effects, etc I honestly do believe that the more practice the better.
@ziggy77 Thank you. I would like to and need to do this more.

Oh well done, I find it very difficult.

@ceilidh Thank you, I agree it is tough to get right- still learning.

I tried tis a little while a go and found the I got the best results when I added a ND filer. that way I could slow the shutter down quite a bit and get more of a blur in the background.

Well done for trying this, it isn't easy. I tried it a few times, last time I ended up taking over 900 shots!

@stephanies Thank goodness for large cards and the delete function. I think that I took about 30 or so for each final.

I have no idea how to "pan". Keep it up to teach!

@pickerandagrinner Go to the alternate University YouTube. Here is one that kinda helped me but also taking oodles of shots helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFNBs0rtyl4
