Pointed my camera too far east for the Ganymede Meteors but still okay. I did re-adjust to point north by northeast but only 'caught' a helicopter coming in from the Navajo Reservation. I also didn't stay too long, It was burrrrr 23f - about -5 celcius. I may just wait for a warmer meteor shower to try again. We did spot the comet. though.
Despite the lack of meteors it's still a great image I love the trees on the horizon dwarfed by the enormity of space :) Please consider tagging it for the astrophotography theme.
@byrdlip Thank you so kindly for the fav. I read that having something in the foreground helps balance the composition.
@rjb71 So very grateful for the fav, I've got a long way to go with night shots but I need warmer gloves and maybe some heated hand warmers. Winter is the best time they say but the temperatures are brutal.
@kali66 Thank yous so much. I did drag my husband with, he was looking for the comet but when our fingers started to sting, we called it quits and headed for the car with its heated seats- I am basically a softee.
I saw three meteors on my drive in to work. Called hubby to get out of bed and go outside. He saw two meteors in 30 seconds, felt satisfied, and went back to bed! You have a pretty picture with this image.
