I've been waiting all day for this. The snow cat to plow our end of the street. Our end is often neglected for some reason. The snow stopped Friday, early afternoon but the plow finally showed tonight, Saturday 7:35pm. I've watched at least 4 people get stuck today. My husband went out at least once with his shovels to help and I saw one of our neighbors attach a chain to his pickup to another and pull the other guy down the road. It was an eventful day.
Sorry for the blur, I wasn't about to ask Mr. Cat-driver to stop and pose as well as the first camera I grabbed had the lensbaby SOL45 on it.
I am also going to tag this for next week's Dogwood "storms". Our upcoming weather this week is going to be tame as compared to the past couple of days- 20 inches of snow and late plowing. - Winter is oh so much fun- NOT!
You've certainly given it a strange and isolated feel in this shot.
I hear that getting a politician or local council member to live on your street can improve your snow removal service.
@moonbi Thank you a great deal. Seeing and feeling one of those lumbering down the street is unsettling, makes one feel rather small.
@haskar Most grateful for the fav. This whole house shakes when this big plow shows up.
@robz Truly thankful for the fav. This plow does make quick work of the snow and leaves a huge pile in the middle of the circle which kids use as a mini ski slope of sorts.
@onewing It is a weird feeling that this plow creates, the house shakes and with those lights, it is truly kinda other worldly.
@gardencat I did feel isolated from the rest of town until this beast showed up. Not a bad idea but our city is controlled by a certain neighborhood or so it seems. We do have one of the members of the HOA living across the street, maybe he pulled some strings :):)
@ziggy77 Thank you so very kindly for the fav. I am amazed how efficient these huge beasts are for snow moving.
@ninaganci Truly grateful for the fav It moved fast and I felt lucky to just even get a few shots before it went merrily off.
We are fortunate to be on the main road of our community so the plows generally stay on top of our street but there are some side roads who probably feel the same as you do. Never enough, and never soon enough! Good catch!
