Inspired by Edward Weston's famous pepper no.30. I didn't know that he used an f-stop of 240 and an exposure time of 4-6 hours. (this according to his grand daughter- Kim Weston)
@angelikavr These red onions don't seem to bother me as much as the yellow ones- not sure why.
@dustyloup Thank you so much. I was drawn to Weston's work from the very first time that I saw it, just really touched something inside.
@jernst1779 Most thankful for the fav. Shooting sheet film or any film for that matter was for me, a hope and a prayer. I so appreciate digital but am still on the hook with film just not as often.
@domenicododaro Thank you kindly. I started with an extension tube since I really wanted to capture the detail but removed it as there were too many shadows and my mixing bowl was giving me a few interesting reflections and tones.
It was a real surprise to learn of the exposure details. I never knew that such an f-stop was available. My Nikkor f 5.6 only has f 64 as its high range- My knowledge of large format lenses is rather limited.
@haskar Thank you so very much for the fav. Who knew that my mixing bowl would become a prop one day :-)
@olivetreeann What a most kind comment, thank you so kindly.
@pistache This is what happens when I have time to ponder and look at the photography books on my shelf. Most grateful for the fav.
@robz Thank you a great deal. I agree, f 240, wow!
