1st attempt

Taken 4 nights ago, this is the moon with Jupiter and Saturn from my backyard . I've talked my husband into accompanying me tonight to try again. We are going south west of town to a lake which is farther away from the lights of town. I am not really looking to see the conjunction but, they will be about 2 degrees apart.
Beautiful shot. Love how we can see the ‘dark’ part of the moon above the crescent. Too bright here where I live for a good view of the night sky but can still pick out the bright white light of Jupiter and if I look hard the softer, warmer light of Saturn.

Well done - I will enjoy your photo and not venture outside trying to find them - stay warm

Well done is right. New definition of blue hour with the tones you have here! I don't think we'll have a chance to see this in Oregon...too many clouds, too much rain.

Thank you all so very much. It was a gift to see this and capture it too. We had just installed a motion detector light with a timer in the back yard which did come in handy when I was trying not to fall over things in the dark.
