My brother-in-law was kind enough to drive me around to some various spots at the ocean and let me figure out if capturing the Super Moon might work in a particular location. We tried San Pedro, The Point Vicente Lighthouse and finally a favorite beach walk of theirs, which was 'won'. The moon was going to set over the ocean at 269 degrees W at 5:27am so, we woke up and 4:00 to get ready and there in time. There were clouds along the coastline so it was a no-go this time.
Thank you all so very much. The moon setting has intrigued me for a few years. I caught it a couple of years ago but I keep trying. Going out early in LA is almost fun, when we tried at 4am it was actually warm to me (but not my brother-in-law). At home in Arizona, its usually 30 degrees or so.
