I would like to invite your comments - Is the B&W or color better? Does the blur work? I am trying to expand my art and tickle my Muse into a discussion. She has been somewhat closed mouthed of late.
This was taken with the slow shutter app on my phone and also used a wide angle lens. I am exploring pictoralism and impressionistic photography.
I love the b&w because it looks like an entrance to a midivil castle and courtyard, but that's just me. The color is also wonderful because it reminds me of cathedrals and stained glass. And that's my two cents worth. =)
Oh, that's a tough choice. I am a sucker for ICM and I often have this issue of picking from b*w or colour. So I go for both. I really like how you composed this one, with that pointed arch. Very nice.
Both are good but completely different. Colorful is bright and cheerful. A bit dreamy. Monochrome, on the other hand, carries a dark secret. These trees in the foreground are forbidding access and we must overcome our inner fears to go deeper.
Wow- hard to compare- it's like you're asking us which ice cream flavor tastes best! I think they're both excellent in their own way and if I'd seen either one and not the other I'd probably have fav'd it. The color version definitely captures the Impressionist feel of a painting and is full of life. The black and white has the angst and nerves of Munch's "The Scream" but in an appealing sort of way! So what I think is it really depends on what mood YOU as the artist wanted to convey. No matter what, you used the ICM to its best potential both by choosing trees as your subject and the way you processed it. Good shot- both ways!
