Firefighter

Not the kind of excitement I need. I was sitting out on my patio today and wondered why these planes were buzzing my house. I turned around and saw huge billows of smoke from a brush fire a couple of miles away. Didn't smell it because the wind was blowing it away from our area. It was extinguished very quickly by helicopters and these planes. Thank you Firefighters!
Glad they got it out and this is a fantastic shot!! This is an S-2F Tracker, converted Navy submarine tracker and a very good tool for fighting fires

Glad they got it out fast. I think we are in for a bad fire season. Fingers crossed we don't.

wonderful shot! Was it flying fairly low?? You guys seem to get lots of bush fires right? They often show up on our news :( We have similar issues here in Australia. Our summers are very dry and I live in a semi rural area which is in a high risk bush fire zone. Hot, windy days always have us on high alert.

Great capture of the plane. We've got a lot of fires around here in Jax, but not sure if they are using any aerial means to extinguish them. Mostly ground crews. These afternoon thunderstorms keep setting them off with the lightning.
