I went into town this morning 'the other way'.. as I have been trying to get this scene with the right light ... still a little disappointed that the little cabin did not have the light on it but the lake looked very tranquil..
This spot is a great memory of my childhood as it was just up the road from where I grew up and every year in February the local Racing Club held horse races around the lake it bought hundreds of people into our small community for the day and it was alot of fun I can remember sliding down the hills on cardboard along with all the other kids .. we use to have 'pretend' bets on the races and if our parents were lucky they may have 'broken even' for the day ...
Now the farmer that owns the land has built a house where the 'tote' use to be and his wife had this little cabin built for her to do her art work...
Lovely image. Must be a great place to get inspiration for artwork. We sometimes went to the races too, but my memories are more of dad driving with the water tank on the back of the truck to sprinkle the metal road to help keep the dust down.
