This morning before I could mow the lawn I had to do a big clean up after the storm that went through yesterday .. there was sticks, leaves and branches all over the lawn .. But a pleasant surprise was in my little 'bush' garden the Nikau Palm had shedded two of it's lower branches to reveal their stunning flowers and the bee's and fly's were busy doing what they do just below the flowers are last years that are now red berries ready to be spread by the birds to bring us more Nikau Palms.
This is a Great Barrier Island Nikau and I was told at the time of planting that it grows alot quicker than the North Island one.. and as there is one of these right next to it .. It has been proven correct as that one is a lot smaller and has not flowered yet.. We will gather some of the berries and pot it up to get some more plants going..
A beautiful collection of images in this lovely composed collage . and how lovely that it grows and can be cultivate to get more plants quickly -- ( that's the way I like it !! )
