Where's the Wildlife? by jyokota

Where's the Wildlife?

On a bumper to bumper drive through Cades Cove, we stopped to photograph trees and a church. There were supposed to be bears and elk but we didn't see any.

I like the starkness a lot

Love this low-key approach that makes it seem almost sinister. Very cool processing.

excellent, moody shot

A strong image-I'm thoroughly enjoying your trip :)

Wonderful stark image - so nice to see Taffy's version of same tree too. Thanks for sharing them both.

Great atmosphere here Junko! What a shame about the wildlife! Mind you I would be very nervous if I knew there were bears about! An excited cow or angry bull is all we have to worry about in the UK!

@jamibann -- Hi Issi, it's actually a different tree than Taffy's. We stopped three different times to photograph trees because it was really a slow moving line of cars on the trail.

Not a leaf to be seen on this tree... makes a lovely stark image!

@jyokota Ah, ... that explains quite a lot! Thank you.

A wonderful stark shot --remote, isolated and rather sinister !

The landscape with the lone tree is also beautiful in black and white.

You need to come with me. In the spring and fall when I am driving home at sunset I see deer quite often along the turnpike. In spring you almost have to be blind not see a moose at Rangely.

@joansmor Moose! I've ALWAYS wanted to see a moose and the only one I saw when I went to Maine was a giant statue outside a restaurant or hotel. @Taffy @Darylo -- do you think we'll be more successful seeing wildlife on a spring trip to see moose ???

@joansmor -- so moose aren't as scary as bears?

@jyokota Just don't get between and momma and her baby. And don't hit one with your car. It ain;t pretty and is exceedingly dangerous. So the rule if you are going to hit one aim for the tail end. Like who has the wits to remember that and respond in the short amount of time you have. LOL

Made a nice b&w landscape here - but I'm like you - always looking for a bear!

Nicely shot! I love your composition, and this is perfect in black and white!

It's just missing a touch of surrealism and you have a Jerry Uelsmann-esque haunting to it.
