Bologna City Wall at Night by jyokota

Bologna City Wall at Night

I chose this one because it shows the crumbling edges of this 12th century city wall. But you can't see the contrasting streetlight through the window very well. Taffy says you have to see this on black to fully understand what you experience on a night walk in this city.

Such wonderful textures in b&w to set the mood. Great use of the window to frame those old-style lights.

This has to be seen on black to be appreciated. The lighting emerges with the black background. It's fascinating as this is a totally different look than the cropped version.

@taffy - some year we have to figure out a way for you and Jim to come the week before/after the bookfair. It's too crazy during the fair but I hardly ever have more than a handful of hours during the entire week to explore the city. This is taken right by our hotel.

I agree with Taffy, this needs to be viewed on black. It is a wonderful image.
