Stayed a second night with Taffy and Jim at their new place, and when 33 floors above the city, there are so many options for taking interesting photos like the Sears Tower without stepping out into the cold. It helps that there are interesting foreground things in the house, too.
I love the way this just glows. The view in the background is just a nice extra. The color in the foreground is what grabs my attention. Wonderful that you can get this without going outside. Stay warm.
We call this biennial plant honesty. The flat seed heads are very beautiful, flower arrangers love it. The light through the opaque discs is wonderful. Fave.
@dkbarnett@mcsiegle@lynnz@Weezilou@agedrunner@seattlite@777margo@lyndamcg@sarahlth@robz@joansmor@louisanoffke@merrelyn@henrir@shepherdmanswife - thank you for all your supportive comments, analytical thoughts, and favs for this photo! What a surprise -- I posted it 5 days late, buried under all my more recent photos and you all have kept this image trending anyway. I'm so lucky that @taffy has such a great view, and fine settings for me to appreciate. I had no idea what these leaves are called but @moonmtn Kahsia calls it a "money plant", @happypat Pat calls it "honesty" and @golftragic Marnie does, too. Money - honesty -- I guess those two concepts should go together! All I know is that in the early morning hours, that glow through those colors caught my eye. Had to stay an extra night to get the photograph. Thanks, @taffy !
Love, love, love this -- and am impressed you conceived this as I have -- in all these months -- never once noticed it. This morning I did, but it didn't look nearly as good as your image. Fav of course!
