RBD (Really Big Danbo): "My shoulders are too tight and my arms are too wide!"
OD (Original Danbo): "See, I can hold my arms straight out and stand very still so I can balance that big camera."
WCD (Watering Can Danbo): "I have a hole in the end of my arm so if you put a pin in that big camera you could stick it on the end of my arm."
MD (Mini Danbo): "I can't wait to be up close to that big camera!"
BD (Baby Danbo): "I think I'm too small."
Good vibes out there for #2 in line... he seems like the best fit. #1 looks kind of defeated. I really love how you set this up. The shot is the narrative. Delightful.
I love the Danbos’ arrangement and “expressions”. So very well done! If I may dare, I would like the photo more without the stormtrooper... but it’s so cool however!
This is so cool!! I had never met a Danbo before (had to google their identity) - they are super cute. I love the way you have such an expressive family of them all ready to pose so beautifully. :)
@domenicododaro -- I can understand what you mean in terms of visual composition for this photo. But it's a continuing saga from yesterday -- the dilemma of StormTrooper being too small for his camera. See: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2018-01-23
@cjphoto -- I have a constant thought as I work on this kind of photography: "WWCD?" What would Chris do? I know you would have figured out better lighting for this one. I talked to my husband about how you really work your toy shots in showcasing such good photography techniques and that you must have a studio light (hinting heavily that I might need one, too . . . ) AND stay tuned . . . Taffy and I went out to buy LEGO CAMERAS today!
@jyokota - Hahaha I'm totally thrilled to have inspired a toys with cameras craze here! :D Actually your lighting looks excellent to me. Each Danbo as well as Storm Trooper are well lit, which is what I try to go for.
Tell you the truth, most of my lighting is super simple. I have a tall lamp in my room that I easily move around to light the subjects. Then I may fix any issues I may have had in Lightroom by brightening certain areas of the photo. Also, I've been playing around with these studio lights from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RKJ0ZFE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I do have to come up with a creative way to soften these lights...and one day I wanna get a softbox. But in a nutshell, all my lighting comes from just playing around until I get a good look. I'm still learning that's for sure.
I am SO looking forward to seeing your Lego Cameras! Heard you two had a great time at the Lego store! Haha. :D
