First day at the Grand Canyon with @taffy and @jgpittenger. Snowed, rained, and all we saw was complete whiteness . . . and then, the canyon! My fingers and toes were frozen, but the experience of being there was worth braving the cold. Missing @rosiekerr, our travel companion extraordinaire from our Oregon trip.
Absolutely extraordinary landscape Junko. These shots by you three @taffy, @jgpittenger show so much more, and so much more interesting features of the canyon than I've seen before. Magic.
Another amazing image from the intrepid three. The weather sounds foul - but you've all taken such good images. You must all have so much patience - as well as skill!
I like the focus on the near cliffside. Gives it such depth and contrast. Worth freezing your fingers off to see such a sight methinks! Hope you get clearer (warmer!) weather today.
@golftragic and @robz -- the MAIN delight of a photo trip like this one is being with fellow 365ers who inspire, support, and offer creative solutions to dilemmas, and who provide companionship and true friendship throughout the days. I wish you could join us!
@dide -- thank you for your concern -- I have been using toe warmers and finger warmers, and they help, but you really can't stay out too long even with those.
@julzmaioro -- we went to a cafeteria and I had warm oatmeal for dinner!
@rosiekerr -- we MISS YOU!!! Must start planning our next adventure together. @taffy and @jgpittenger -- thank you for your constant support and feedback!
Thank you all for your supportive comments! I haven't had my Canon camera in my hands much over these last months but I've quickly been reminded why I like shooting with it so much. The canyon is spectacular, and trying to figure out how to show the depth has been the challenge. Oh, right, and the weather. This morning's wind could have knocked us over, tripods and all!
LOL Junko - Thanks for your delightful response - and wouldn't that be such an adventure. Maybe one day Oz might lure you over here to take some red outback and blue seaside shots - we can never say no to a trip to the outback. Cheers Rob
@robz -- I've been to OZ a few times. In 2008 for a month, traveling from Melbourne to somewhere in the countryside nearby, then to Perth/Fremantle, Denmark, Margaret River, Darwin, Kakadoo, Port Douglas, etc. -- all with a tiny point and shoot. I returned a few years ago and went to Fremantle. Last year, I went to Sydney and met up with 365er Annie D., and then spent a couple of weeks in Tasmania. LOVE the country and would love to go back.
@jyokota Hi Junko - sound like you've seen a good deal of our place on Earth! So good to hear. If you ever get the inclination to come again please let me know.....
And Junko -- simply a wow!
