Francesca asked me to do some splash photography this week, you would laugh if you saw my setup, i dont have external flashes and such so i set up outside, and this is etsooied to the max but it is one frame, I may do a composite shot later.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond i set the martini glass on an outside table, ( saw youtube tutorial that recommended this shaped glass) cardboard box covered with white tablecloth (yes white) behind , side on to the sun so no glass shadow on the backdrop, camera on tripod set to sports multi-shot mode, used corded remote, ( shots were crooked because the ground was uneven with long grass but i cropped and straightened in post. dropped icecube into glass repeatedly, struggling to capture anything good, then figured out i needed manual focus. about 6 shots out of a hundred had a decent splash . on that mode you cant tell the camera what kind of exposure you want so the images were basically all grey... into silver efex to do extreme edit to turn it into a low key image.
