See, when you grew up during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Tucson having DM and all the missile silos around, I can still remember the visions of being part way thru Redington Pass when a mushroom cloud appears behind you, that "game" doesn't seem like any fun at all. Just an age thing.
JA, the game was actually created in 1965 (directly after the Cuban Missile Crisis) and has remained popular. Part of the reason I enjoy it so much is that it is historical and particularly relevant to one of the topics I did my Master's research in. I must admit that I didn't live through the Cuban Missile Crisis but I know people that did and enjoy the game. I'm sure that was a scary time but we still live in scary times.
