Don't Get Me Started

When I am old
Older
And nice, young people
try to cajole me
into reminiscing
I will talk about
the weather

When I am older
older still
and even younger ones
ask of the past
I will make comment
on the food of the day

Their trifling interest
no matter the well
mannered intent
is not my concern

but
When I am older
if I were asked how
I was feeling today
well, then
I would close my eyes
and speak
of Sean
Thought-provoking photo and poem. Did you write it? Who is Sean? (You do not need to reply if this is me being too inquisitive.)

@juliedduncan Hi Julie! Yes, I cobbled the words together. Sean is my brother who passed a bit ago. He's in the painting. Yesterday was his birthday.

@kevin365 Kevin, I am so sorry. This is such a touching tribute to his memory - both the poem and the painting/photo. May you find comfort and consolation in the days ahead.

Vintage Kevin - paying respectful homage in your unique way. Respect where it's due.

@vignouse Thank you, Sir. I just feel as though older folks are treated as trained monkeys, at times, for the entertainment of the gathered. But I know what I would speak of if the right question were asked. I so do appreciate your stopping by!
