You have done well, Sir.
You have loved your Love
And lived your dreams
Through the work of
Your own hands,
And God's good Grace.
You have not stopped.
And nothing could stop you.
Challenges met,
Young and old.
You showed your meter.
Demonstrated your strength.
There's nothing left to give.
And you have left plenty to remember
And for that we are Great-Full.
You have placed your Mason's mark
On all whose lives you've touched.
So, Rest easy, Brother
Father
Friend
Husband,
Rest Easy.
Yours is a life worthy of Celebration.
And, so, we Celebrate you.
And You ...
Rest in Peace.
Kevin what a beautiful tribute! Your words are very touching and the picture provides a beautiful insight to the person that you are memorializing! Well done and I'm sorry for your loss to your whole family!
You can tell so much about a soul by looking at their things. I see a mechanic, a fun-loving game player, a brave and loyal veteran, a writer committed to relationships, a dapper gentleman! And your poem! It's so good to work out our grief through art, not for audiences, but for ourselves. I too lost my father this past year, and 365 and poetry were also an outlet for me. Blessings on you and your family, Kevin. Thank you for sharing--you've struck a chord of humanity. He obviously was a dear and inspirational man.
Wonderful tribute.....a whole life summed up in this picture, and the absence of the person felt so poignantly! A life well lived, and memories left behind....sorry for your loss, but I don't think his memory will fade away anytime soon!
Such a beautiful tribute. It reminds me so much of my late father. I have the flag presented to our family almost 22 years ago. These are wonderful memories you and your family will always cherish. Well captured.
Excellent tribute and beautiful poem. Condolences for your loss. Those are wonderful mementos, well framed and photographed. He obviously made a wonderful and positive impact on his family and community.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I love the poem, but especially the collection of things that you have chosen to show us who he was. He looked like he lived a full and interesting life.
What a touching tribute which, between the words acknowledging a life well lead, and the objects that speak to his presence in this world, you've given us a glimpse of a man we would have loved to have known. May he now rest in peace and may you find comfort in knowing this community is proud of you for sharing this moment with us.
A beautiful photographic tribute to what appears to be a life fully lived. Condolences to you and your family as you grieve the loss of this husband and father.
I worked in a funeral home so I have seen many tributes to loved ones. Your display tells me so much of what this man's life was about. Most of all it shows hard work, dedication and balance. Well done. Thank you sir for your sacrifice for our country. May you rest in peace.
A very touching tribute. Please accept my condolences to you and your family. May he rest and peace. I sincerely hope that time will heal your pain and sorrow.
A touching tribute. I loved your poem to a man that stated - "Yours is a life worthy of Celebration" - you have certainly demonstrated that with your emotional capture. Very sorry for your loss, take good care of your family at this difficult time.
Very sorry for your loss, Kevin. This photo is a wonderful tribute to a man who will be, I'm certain, deeply missed and well remembered. Blessings on you and your family.
Kevin, I'm sorry to learn of the loss in your family. I am, once again, moved by your ability to tie words and image together into something larger than each separately and, in this case, more than the sum of any one part of the man. Your words touched me deeply and reminds me a great deal of my grandfather. If interested, and you have the time bc I was much more verbose in my tribute than you in yours, it can be found here. Perhaps it will resonate with you as you and yours grieve. I'll be holding you and yours in my thoughts, Kevin. May peace and solace be yours.
Ah, Kevin - you have a way of finding words that both evoke and soothe. Be thankful for a life well lived and the markers that he left behind as witness to his passing. You have my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Gone yet not forgotten. A lovely and touching tribute. I am very sorry for your loss and send my sincere condolences to you and your family from Switzerland. A loved one is missing, but good memories bound together (like the tribute), bring him back again and again.
Such a beautiful image and a wonderful poem - both are a great tribute! So sad to hear of your family's loss. You have many things to remind you all of the good times you had. My thoughts are with you all at such a sad time.
A beautiful tribute. I am sorry to hear of your loss and my prayers also go out to your mom. I love the way you displayed these memories. I do the same when someone close passes on including making shadow boxes. I am faving this one. Bless.
This is a beautifully presented and though out tribute that hints at a life well lived. My condolences to your family at this difficult time. May the memories be uplifting.
This brought tears to my eyes, a truly moving tribute to someone who was clearly dearly loved and respected. Wonderful photo with amazing words. I hope you find peace and happiness in your memories soon.
A celebration of life enveloped by friends and family will truly help the spirit of this brother, father, friend and husband be what he would want it to be and how he would want to be remembered. May it provide you and your family added comfort... though I've never met anyone in your family, I can somehow feel the pride of a life well lived. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you... Scott
What a great tribute...both poetically and photographically....I am sure he will be missed, but it looks and sounds as though you have many many happy memories to keep.
A lovely tribute to a man who must have been wonderful to know. I like the fact that you have shown us some about his life with the items in your photo. Well done...
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss! Nice tribute! I salute and thank him for his service! A veteran, a mechanic or tinkerer and a cribbage lover!
I was in a life threatening accident a year and a half ago and this community supported me in this same way! It was instrumental in my healing so I have already been afforded that kindness, know how much it means and was thrilled for the opportunity to pay it forward!
@kevin365 that is so kind of you to say Kevin. I was more than happy to support someone else the way I had been supported! Thanks too for your well wishes. I am as good as I'm ever going to be and grateful for that!
