I Know

I do not know what draws me to the sea
I cannot help but wonder at what it is
That is supposed to be

My step is stopped by most and
what brings their pain
And what makes them go again

But staring out at this wide expanse
Brings perspective to the hurt
and chance

And reminds me, yet again, of how briefly it is
that we come and go
And these things I do not know
I know
