Royal spoonbill

This young bird was the only one of it's kind on the beach in the late afternoon light. I thought it might work for the backlight technique. The sunlight was glowing through its feathers quite nicely.

@julzmaioro @littleconnie @dawnee I was so pleased to see this bird although I was waiting for him to put his other foot down. I guess it was just his favourite pose.

@kwind They always intrigue me how they manage to stand and sometime hop on one leg. Not something I do much of these days!

@maggiemae Yes I was lucky. I wonder if that is why they stand on one leg so often? Keeping the other one warm? It doesn't work for me. lol
