And so JordanT and his 12 friends went off to QLD to long time 365 member @happysnaps who happens to be my mum, and the person who introduced me to this amazing place.
She lives in a retirement village and as all the people living there are in the most vulnerable category for COVID, they have been quite locked down and isolated.
Val started watching my JordanT project and thought it would bring joy to these people to have a koala in their lives and very generously decided to make that happen.
I have many soft toy koalas as I used to run a market stall, but of course they are not happening for who knows how long. So it is fantastic to have some of them out there helping people.
Thanks for following this one subject thirty shots project this month. If you watch @happysnaps for the next couple of days you will see JordanT settling in up there :)
A beautiful photo and so great to see you. I have enjoyed your month so much and can't wait to see Jordan T's adventures with your Mum. I have been following you both for so long, but never realised you were mother and daughter. It is wonderful that you share the same love of photography.
What a lovely story. I didn't realize that Valerie was your Mum. How exciting that Jordan T and some of his friends have now gone to ;ive in Queensland. I am sure they will settle in their new homes perfectly and be comfort to people living in the retirement village.
I am now going to check out Valerie's page and see if they have arrived yet.
so nice to finally "meet" you, katrina. it's always nice to have a face to go with the name. in the mid 90's when i was into cross stitching, i did about 12 photo album covers of different koala poses. they sold more than the bear cross stitches. unfortunately, i don't have even one photo of my work. i like those koala toys, do you still sell them? i should like to buy a couple, if you still do.
Terrific to see you - and hear about your mum and your sharing and caring for everyone! How lovely that you're both on here. I haven't followed your mum but will look her up when I finish this :)
What an absolute delight it is to "meet you face to face" when everyone else is covering theirs!!! This truly made my day, and you look close to what I imagined...gentleness in your eyes and a sweet sweet smile!!! Lovely!!!
And what a wonderful happy portrait of you Katrina. Well done on your donation to the community
