Karen challenged me "...to experiment in cool tones" for my Get-Pushed Challenge this week. She noticed how much I love my cozy warm tones. I took this shot before I got the challenge, but processed it really pushing the RAW white balance toward the cool temperature end of the Kelvin scale. The already bright blue sky really popped as a result.
I love how even if we're bogged in with snow for a couple days in Calgary, you know that blue skies and sun will come out soon and make the fresh snow sparkle.
@tigerdreamer ~ Karen - here's a first attempt. A little easier for me with the blue sky, but I'll try to push myself further again this week. I didn't find any cyanotype settings in my camera, but there is a cool in-camera Toy Camera creative filter that you can set to cool tones once you have a shot... I might try that one. And I found where I can manually set my white balance to cooler temps in degree Kelvin. Do you know if that is much different than adjusting a RAW file white balance in post processing?
@m9f9l ~ Thanks! I should have gotten out earlier as the frost and snow were quickly coming off the trees in the bright sun and warmer temps. The blue sky was so brilliant after the pure white of yesterday.
I'm afraid I can't help you much with the raw stuff. My camera isn't that level. I pretty much have a glorified pns.
Good start, well done.
