What a day... I dropped my daughter off at the pool in Victoria (she's staying with friends tonight) at 7:15 am and then drove a record breaking 2.5 hours north to home. I was at the property by 10:30 am. My husband & son along with a friend & his son were busy stripping the footing forms and getting the foundation organized. I worked a solid four hours pulling nails from lumber and packing 3'x 4' foundation forms. I am seriously scared about how my hands & arms are going to feel in the morning. I haven't worked that hard in a LONG time!! The weather was rather interesting... sun, rain, wind, and rainbows!!! I couldn't decide which to share so here's one looking south. The colours were rather intense.
Check out a different rainbow that happened later in the day in my 'extra shots' album. You can see the location of the new house as the entire thing arched the property. http://365project.org/kwind/extra-shots/2013-03-02
I have not commented on a single photo today... so sorry! I'll try to check out your stuff tonight. I think sleep is going to come very early so I'm not sure I'll get much accomplished today.
@lyno My husband is a builder but works out of the province framing apartments. He'll help out when home but the bulk of the project will be done by others. We're (I'm) the general contractor. This is our 10th build.
This is gorgeous! Fav for me! Are you building your house? My husband and I did that. We got some help on the top floors, but he IS a builder....so we framed the basement walls/rooms, built the steps, ran trim, laid tile, built the decks, etc... It WAS hard work! Backbreaking!
@espyetta I'm basically going to be the general contractor. My husband is a builder too but he does 60 unit apartments now all over the country. He's home for a week and gone for two. He was home this week so we did as much as we could. We're going to hire out the majority of things. This is our tenth house so I know about the backbreaking work!! I remember out first place and we had NO money, we did virtually everything ourselves. It felt good to work so hard yesterday.
After my comment I read others, and I must add that they made me smile. Jeff is an electric engineer and was partner in a large building company, so we renovated the house 5 years ago, and I was the general contractor; Jeff would come every other weekend and I was in-charged in his absence. It was a fun project. After we finished, then I did it for a friend of mine who had gotten divorced and didn't have a clue of what to do. It's fun. If you need help... let me know... LOL
Such a beautiful rainbow capture! I love how you can see a little bit of mountain through it right at the horizon. And good for you working so hard! We've been doing some landscaping here and my body hurts, but in a great way.
Love the rainbow.
