Another roundhouse on the side of the Stroudwater Canal. These were homes for a family that looked after a stretch of the canal called a "Pound". They were built round under the superstition that ghosts couldn't hide in the corner. Also originally the roof was concave to allow the rainwater to be collected for washing and cooking.

@rufus2895 The roundhouse was built in 1791, two years after the canal open. The little bit on the left side is a modern addition. It has 3 floors, the ground floor was for stables and the upper 2 for family living.
