Butter Row Toll House by ladymagpie

Butter Row Toll House

There has been a turnpike or toll house here since 1752 and since then it has been used for many things. A little grocery shop a now a private house. The charges to pass this point are on the board above the door. Example: For every horse, mule or ass laden or ridden but not drawing a charge of 1 old penny be paid. Bit cheaper than the Severn Bridge.
so spend a penny ment somthing else then :-))
