A view across the River Severn from Arlingham finds Newnam Church clinging to the clifftop. A wonderful place to watch the famous Severn Bore, must take a photo of that.
To reach the church from this side of the river involves a 30 to 40 mile round journey either via Gloucester or the Severn Bridge at Chepstow. Trying to cross at this point can be precarious with the dangerous currents and moving sandbanks, only experienced boatmen would risk it.
would love to witness the Bore in full flood they say it only lasts a short time ?
