This hot weather continues here in the UK, but at least it has brought out the first dragonfly of the season.
Visiting my Sister today her conservatory sits next to the pond and often these dragonflies pop in to rest on the roof blinds, very convenient for a lovely photograph. Just love the markings to the body and the lines in the wings.

Very impressive shot of the dragonfly. I am following you now. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the reactions, can not believe it. I am working full time, but upload my photo before I go to work. And peep in during lunch.
@daisyjuds Thanks Judith you comments are appreciated. Thankfully I'm retired from a very high pressured job that took me to different parts of the world, unfortunately photograph wasn't in my life then.
@ladymagpie. Oh enjoy your time. Sometimes I wish I had more time for myself and my family. I still have a few years to go. Your job (the different parts that you've seen, sounds interesting, but the stress and so on, not.
@daisyjuds The stress was my downfall in the end, caused such illness in the end I had to give it up. Did see most Cities in Europe plus 3 visits to America and Canada, well I saw airports, hotels and factories. Took holiday in Calgary and the Rockies after a few days work.
I see what you mean. That's why I like to have hobbies, (although, I sometimes struggle to get the time for it).
My favourite were to go for a daily walk. But due to injections in my back, I will have to wait till much later this year, before I start again. At a slower pace than before.
Great shot, they usually don't sit still long enough! We had big brown ones, smaller stripy ones and little blue ones flitting about our scout campsite but never managed to catch one
