Escargot for Lunch - Anyone by ladymagpie

Escargot for Lunch - Anyone

You may not like this capture, but life is life and these lovely creatures were found under a pile of damp logs. There were hundreds of them and included a few woodlice for luck.

Now I'm not suggesting that these are your real French escargots, in fact they are your common or garden British snail. I have been offered snails to eat whilst in France but I couldn't, I did however enjoy frogs legs.

Best viewed with the magnify button above the pic, if you dare.
nicely captured, now where's the lemon juice.

Great capture however, I will pass on the snails and the wood lice and the viewing large - such a wimp:0)

@killeen @claireuk @lynnilou @thresheg Thank you for at least looking and commenting, nobody yet has said they like French snails.

A good garlic sauce and french bread, washed down with a glug of french wine, sitting outside in the french sunshine, anything tastes good!
Nice shot of these little lettuce shredders!

@windridge @snowy Thank you ladies for even looking, nobody wants to look in the larger picture.

I quite like snails apart from when they are eating my plants - but as a source of food no thank you.

Viewed large (but not for too long!), interesting patterns in their shells! I'll pass on the escargot, though.

@kchuk Your so brave to look, must admit I don't know why I took it.

So - did you remove them to somewhere over a mile away to save your garden? Or boil them for birds? Or leave them be :)

@rvm Thanks for looking, thankfully they were in my friends garden and her husband was collecting them up, I live half a mile away up a steep hill and decided they would take ages to reach me.

I'm heating up the garlic and butter as I write. You can keep the wood lice.

I've eaten escargot several times (the best in New Orleans) Needless to say, they did not look like this! It is an interesting capture...had to laugh at your response to Rachel - it would indeed take them a long while to get to your home!

Lovely capture of something that is quite beautiful and destructive. Could have done without looking at the creepy crawlies though. :))

@kathiecb @linnypinny @connie865 @khawbecker Thank you all for commenting, not sure the subject was great but the colours came out well.
