You can't go through a Summer season without having Lupins to photograph. My parents used to have many of these in our front garden in the 50's and 60's, but the don't seem so popular today.
Spotted this lone young Lupin in my friends garden and just had to capture it. Do we think it's like a lollipop or a rocket reaching for the sky. Whatever you think it's still a very pretty flower.
Beautiful colour., lovely detail. As a child, I used to like the peppery smell of the yellow ones on the beach at Sizewell, Suffolk - but now there's a nuclear power station there instead.
I can remember `chitting` the seeds for my Father, before planting them in seed trays. Then the long wait until they came up...your lovely image reminded me.
I'm with you, Heather. I love Lupins. I first fell in love with them many years ago while in PEI where they grow wild. Thankfully they seem to flourish in my new garden so had a hardy batch this year. Super shot
Hope you feel much better soon.
