I was inspired to capture these lily stamens after looking at fellow 365er carol white who captured the same subject a few days ago. This was the very last flower to open, and because of warnings given to me by several friends I've have been pulling them all off as soon as the come in view.
If you could see the stains on the tissue that I removed these stamens, you could understand the warnings that if they drop off on your carpets or furniture you will never get the marks off.
How can such a beautiful flower have a nasty trick up inside it's petals. Perhaps I should change my name to Lily, as people have often said that meeting me has certainly left a mark in their lives. Aaaaaaaaaarh.
I love this, the light catching the edge of some stamens is wonderful. They do stain lots. In the days where teachers had more freedom in their classroom than now I can remember dying wool with my class, we used all kinds of plants, onion skins beet root but meve lily stamens, perhaps I should wing my way back through time to try them! This shot is a fav
I have been browsing through your album and I am fascinated with some of your photography. I find your narratives very interesting and witty. Fav & follow.
