Yesterday I was out watching the Fox and Hounds, but although I waited half an hour it didn't move an inch. I must first admit that I am very anti hunting and was so pleased when a ban was brought in for the UK, there is no need for dogs to rip a countryside animal apart in the name of sport.
I'll get of my high horse now, that's appropriate, and talk about this lovely old English pub in the village of Coaley, not far from my home. I was out geocaching yesterday and passed by and decided to photograph it on the way back.
The Fox and Hounds is believed to be at least mid 18th century but of course is a main building in the village life. It was not only the headquarters of the local football team, but was also the local fire station all through the war and was manned 24 hours a day. They had their own vehicle and hand-pump and did put out a farm fire. The room used by the firemen and the footballers was originally the stables.
I wonder if the ever had drunken fireman or footballers.
Beautiful capture of this lovely building and I too agree that animals hunted for sport is not ok. In fact I eat no animal products at all. I think animals are full of feelings and even raising them in my country of the US is despicable.
