Another beautiful flower from my doggy friends garden. These looked a picture against the yellow Cotswold stone brick walls and would brighten any garden, particularly on a rainy day.
This flower is called "Bergenia", and after a quick search of the internet I've come up with some interesting nicknames. Firstly the common names for Bergenia are pigsqueak (due to the sound produced when two leaves are rubbed together), elephant's ears (due to the shape of the leaves) and large rockfoil.
So my doggy friend has pigs and elephants in her garden as well as her three dogs, some sort of zoo seems to be forming.
Lovely shot of the bergenia. we have some in our garden, brought originally from my parents' garden nearly 30 years ago and we also know it as elephants' ears which is useful when you forget 'bergenia'!
Ok - Is that a snail in the right hand corner? Does your doggy friend have a name? And with all those names I think you need to send them to my ark :) Lovely colourful capture!
minds thinking alike!
