Thank you all for your comment a FAV's yesterday, I can assure some of you that the tractor and harvester weren't toys.
I took this close-up the other day on my walk and although it's probably the most common wild flower in England it's also very pretty when you get close and personnel with it. Most of us will know this as Cow Parsley but I bet you didn't realise it's in the same family as carrots.
Cow Parsley is a hollow-stemmed, tall plant that grows rapidly in the summer before dying back. It likes shady habitats in particular, and can be found decorating woodland edges, roadside verges and hedgerows with masses of frothy, white flowers. These flower umbels (umbrella-like clusters) appear from May until June.
They may be common flowers or weeds, but they look very pretty in a close-up picture, best viewed as course with the dark background.
Cow parsley and carrots. No I didn't know. Need to look that one up now! It is beautiful in close up and we seem to have even more flowers than usual this year.
