I had to visit my Toyota garage today in Cheltenham, the reason being I had a smashed wing mirror, and also I'm due to change my car very soon. So on the way home I planned a few geocaches and this church was in a small village called Whadden on my route home.
This church is called St. Margarets and sits on a low hill on the edge of Gloucester. The nave and chancel are thirteenth century, and the western tower was added in the fifteenth century. The picture is looking at the entrance to the nave and is on the north side, protected by a porch with a four-centered arch. It's built of Cotswold limestone and has a stone tile roof.
It's a very simple traditional building dating largely from the 13th century, that is 1200's. It's even older than me and just as beautiful. Please view with the dark background if you can.
It;s so hard to imagine the age of this (and you of course!) as our dear country was not "discovered" until the eighteenth century :) BTW, what preservative are you using Heather to maintain your beauty :)
