I promise I won't use pictures of old phone boxes for a while, but this one is special and I just had to share it with you. I found it in a little village near to the River Severn. I was out geocaching and when I looked across the road I spotted this one.
It may look as if nothing is different to any other telephone box, but the wording at the top always reads "Telephone", whereas this one reads "Defibrillator". What a wonderful idea from the villagers to put one of these in an old phone box, it could save a life.
Perhaps this could be brought out throughout the UK, it may save many lives around the country, I applaud this village, I won't name it just in case some irresponsible person goes and steals the equipment.
View with the dark background and thanks for all your views and FAV's. I look forward to reading them.
Its great that is so visable. I recently did a St John's Ambulance First Aid course and was surprised to learn that there are defibrillators in many public places: Stations ,Village halls, Markets etc. all with full instructions for anyone to use. Great picture too.
That is really smart! And I love English phone booths, they always had/have much more character than the ones over here. And how long before they disappear altogether. Nice, colorful capture, Heather.
Wonderful idea to store medical equipment to help save lives
well spotted and shared
