I know this is quite an unusual photograph from me but the other day I put a photograph of a little rusty valve and mentioned the connection to my working life. There were many comments about working alongside men in Engineering, so here is what I was working on, both the pictures were taken by me at work.
On the right is one of 6 valves I was inspecting at Cameron Valves in Houston Texas. Very high pressures are involved and the temperature in that factory at the time was 42 degree C, the chap I was working with was very nice and did what was required.
On the left is what my company made, a flow metering skid for the oil and gas industry. I captured this one coming out of the factory on a wide load lorry on it's way to nearby docks, with a police escourt, and then onwards to an oil rig in the north sea. Thankfully the pressures of being the Quality Manager is far gone and I'm enjoying my retirement.
Thanks for getting my street view yesterday on the pp page, glad you liked it
Your career sounds very interesting and challenging. With all that in your background I can see why you enjoy geocacheing. Although retirement is great we all need to be stretched!
