When I cam home yesterday afternoon, there was a real commotion going on over the road. I went out to see what it was and saw this blackbird going berserk on top of the hedge opposite.
I went back in to grab my camera and he was still loudly chirping, then I noticed another one nearby. There was obviously a territorial dispute going on and neither was going to give way. I've also seen them singing beautifully with a female nearby. I think it was singing "Love is in the air".
While I was stood panning the camera across the road, a lady walked by with her Golden Labrador. She stopped and posed in front of the camera until I told her to get out of the view. "You mean you don't want us in the picture, and I've combed my hair especially" she commented. The locals know me well for a laugh.
Thank you so much for your response over the last 3 days, all 3 captures made it to the PP page.
Oh dear! I'm sorry but I really struggle to comment on blackbirds, sparrows and crows as they are not on my list of favourite birds!! They overrun our native birds here! However I can say your photography is good :)
I can imagine the commotion birds can make, love this black bird and your processing.
Yes, I also have people standing in front of me when I want to take a photo, I find it easier to just click and smile 'thank you'. makes them happy. It is after all a digital camera, so I can delete it

I love the blackbird song in the evening.
