It's interesting what you can come across when you are walking in the fields behind my home. It looks like a normal path across from one gate to another, but suddenly you come across these clumps of crocuses, in various colours and periods of life.
I expect to look out for cow pats, or other awful pet leftovers, but to find these on the field footpath was nice to see. I wonder how they got there, normal wild flowers or planted by us humans.
However they got there it certainly brightens my walk.
Lovely find on your walk. Much more attractive than a cow patty.
When I was young and we’d come across fields of lupins in bloom on a hike my dad would tell me that the lupin fairy planted them..... maybe you have a crocus fairies:)
This puts me in mind of our March visits to Cornwall. Hiking along the southern coast there were naturalized daffodils throughout. Thanks for the memory.
