We have another monster hill climbing out of the village and into the woods above. It's not very far from my home but have to admit that in the 36 years I lived here I've only climbed it twice, I had placed a geocache in the woods called "Middleyard Mountain".
It is lovely when you get onto the paths in the woods, but I was so exhausted I didn't have the energy to enjoy it's easier to enter the woods via the road that runs along the hilltop behind the trees.
I took this picture yesterday on my afternoon walk and you might think that doesn't look to bad. Well just round the next bend the slope almost doubles and with my health I definitely wouldn't attempt it.
So there you are the Monster Hill, real name Penn Lane, come and try it if you think your fit enough, but bring your Sherpas', eg Husband or Wife.
