Not a good start to my day as I had to find an emergency dental appointment after a tooth had started to fall out. It has been wobbling around since Friday and nobody was open for three days. Old age doesn't come easy, but removing the tooth by the dentist took seconds, changing my little mouth into a large bill, which I had to pay.
On my way home I stopped in one of our valleys for a breath of fresh air and a stroll. Parking in a layby I know that the old railway line passed close, it had been converted into a cycle track use of walkers as well as the riders.
The line was closed in the 1960's and is about 5 miles long. What is nice at this point is that a little river runs alongside, on the right of the trees.
I'm old enough to remember when steam trains pulling goods wagons along here, it's so sad they're not here today. Saying that this track is used by many cycles and walkers enjoying the beauty of the valleys.
As for me I'm really chuffed that I can walk in the path of locomotives, with the dappled sun through the trees and the sound of the river beside, it is heavenly.
Lovely pic with the sun through the trees and the shadows. Looks like a very lovely spot to take a stroll. That’s great that you got your teeth all fixed up. Sad to hear your wallet is a lot lighter!
This Spring scene is so beautiful.....all that new growth....nature at its most picturesque. The perfect walk to calm you down after the extraction & then having to pay for the privilege!
that does look very springlike !
