Yesterday I had the picture along an old railway line that has been converted to a cycling and walking track. In my narrative I mention that a little river ran beside the track making everything to peaceful and Idyllic.
Here is that river that trickles through the valley and of course runs that cloth mill that I showed you the other day. Stroud, where I live is known as the Five-Valleys, which indicates that there are 5 valleys with rivers or streams running through then and then joining together in the middle like a starfish.
One of the valleys takes the water out the area and on to the major River Severn and onward to the sea. Wherever you go you will see the houses and cottages climbing up the valley sides and the rivers running through the vales.
I love my area and wouldn't want to leave here, even for a million pounds, can I think about that last sentence again for a moment.
It sounds lovely Heather. We drove through Stroud many years ago....only passed through though sadly. This is a pretty little path....a very industrious area, must have been a source of welcome employment fir the local people!
